LeAnn Stanley Binger is a lifelong resident of the Petersburg area.
She is a graduate of Petersburg High School and holds the following:A.S. Degree from Richard Bland College
B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Westhampton College of the University of Richmond
M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Virginia State University
EdD. from the College of William and Mary.Dr. Binger began her career in psychology at Central State Hospital while teaching adjunct courses at Richard Bland College. Before becoming the Director of Institutional Advancement, she has been a full-time Professor of Psychology at Richard Bland College since 1980.
Dr. Binger serves on the Local Human Rights Committee at Southside Training Center in Petersburg and the Petersburg Regional Local Human Rights Committee. She has also served on Hiram Davis Hospital and District 19 Community Services Boards.
Gov. Mark Warner appointed Dr. Binger to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Virginia Museum of Natural History until 2008 where she is the secretary to the board.
Dr. Binger also served as faculty representative to the Board of Visitors at The College of William and Mary.
Dr. Binger is on the executive board for the Friends of the Richard Bland College Library, was a recent participant in Leadership Southside, and is a leader for international travel.
Being aware of the financial requirements of various diverse organizations, Dr. Binger has successfully conducted fundraisers and played an active role in the decision making process for the effective allocation of these resources.
