To release and renew and IP address:
Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the Windows desktop.
Click on Run.
Type winipcfg
Click OK.
The IP Configuration Dialogue box will appear
Select the 3Com or Fast Ethernet Adapter.
Click the Release All Button.
When the IP address, Subnet, and Gateway default to all
zeros, Click the Renew All button.
You should be given an IP address in the 172 range
A subnet mask of 255.255.0.0
and a Gateway of 172.16.8.239.
Reboot your system and test your internet connection.
