Attention: Network Shutdown
Network Maintenance has been scheduled for: February 26, 2008 11am through 1pm
The purpose of the shutdown is: Complete upgrades to the email server ' s information storage (IS) and backup/recovery options and to migrate data.
Please use your department contingency procedures.
During this time frame, You may LOG IN. The following functions will NOT be available:
Email both on and off campus (Do not attempt to use Outlook Web Access to check your email from home)
During the migration process, there will be no Outlook or email.
It is unlikely inbound email will be dropped or returned.
We apologize for the inconvenience to our users, but this project also expands available IS storage, increases IS backup/recovery reliability and should enhance server performance.
Do not attempt to access email at this time. Doing so may hamper the network maintenance and cause delayed return to service. If co-workers are absent when this message is transmitted, please print this message and tape it to their monitors. That is also a good idea for your own monitor to insure that you do not forget.
If the scheduled time will cause unreasonable inconvenience, please contact ITS not less than 48 hours in advance of the scheduled shutdown. Please ask any questions at least 2 hours prior to the shutdown. After the shutdown is initiated, ITS staff will be concentrating EXCLUSIVELY on the shutdown process. We cannot take time to address service calls as that would impede the completion of shutdown tasks and possibly delay a return to service.
