Day-by-Day Itinerary

DAY 1: OVERNIGHT FLIGHT   Depart from the USA.

DAY 2: LONDON   Arrive in London, one of the world's liveliest capitals.

DAY 3: LONDON   Morning sightseeing shows you Trafalgar Square, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. The trip ends at Buckingham Palace for the Changing of the Guard, if available. Enjoy afternoon exploration time.

DAY 4: LONDON   Enjoy an optional full day excursion to Bath, Stonehenge and Salisbury. First visit Bath to see the Royal Crescent, Pulteney Bridge and Roman baths. Continue to Stonehenge to ponder the mysterious stone circles. At Salisbury, visit the cathedral with its magnificent spire ($119). Otherwise, the day is free to explore London at your leisure.

DAY 5: PARIS   Travel to Windsor Castle, built by William the Conqueror and today an official residence of the British Royal Family. Return via Runnymede, where the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. In the afternoon, depart England's capital for a journey under the English Channel on the Eurostar. In just three hours, you will arrive au cœur de Paris for dinner.

DAY 6: PARIS   A local guide shows you the city's impressive monuments—from Notre Dame Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe to the most famous of all, the Eiffel Tower. This afternoon use your ACIS Walking Tour to discover the magnificent art of the Louvre. Enjoy an evening boat ride along the Seine.

DAY 7: PARIS   Your morning is free to visit the famous Impressionist paintings of the Musée d'Orsay. In the afternoon visit Louis XIV's palace at Versailles, including the Hall of Mirrors.

DAY 8: ENGELBERG   Journey on Europe's fastest train, the TGV, to Switzerland. Continue to the beautiful mountain town of Engelberg for dinner and a night's rest.

DAY 9: ENGELBERG   Enjoy morning exploration time or an optional trip to the giddy heights of Mount Titlis. At more than 10,000 feet, it's one of the highest points in the Swiss Alps ($52). Travel to the charming lakeside town of Lucerne in the afternoon for sightseeing and shopping.

DAY 10: HEIDELBERG   Drive to Schaffhausen to view the thundering Rhine Falls. Continue through the Black Forest, full of fairytales and cuckoo clocks, to Heidelberg to see the city's famous castle.

DAY 11: HEIDELBERG   Today, enjoy a cruise along the picturesque River Rhine. Discover the legend of the Lorelei and other great tales on this romantic adventure.
