Themed Housing

Come LIVE, LEARN, and GROW with us!

Living on campus at Richard Bland College of William & Mary is a rewarding experience. We have a committed staff of live-in professionals who work with our student staff to provide a very rewarding, safe, and enjoyable campus life experience. We offer students housing options in three residence halls; Freedom Hall, Patriot Hall, and Grove Living Learning.

As part of our housing options, we allow students a chance to reside in one of our two Theme Communities (TC’s). Please take the opportunity below to view our TC’s and apply for one today.

What are theme communities? TC’s are designed to bring together like-minded students in an effort to support the mission of that community. Participation in either community ensures the student will be exposed to a variety of events and services that will support their academic and personal growth. These communities will define your Richard Bland College experience and prepare you for eventual transfer to a 4-year institution.

How do I apply? Students should complete their housing application by clicking here. Select the housing option you desire as part of your application. Staff will then contact you for follow-up information.

The Grove Community

The Grove Community focuses on college readiness. It is designed for students who are committed to excelling while in college and desire to be part of a family cohort that will encourage and support them through the various speed bumps that may arise. The true essence of this community is collaborative support. Students will attend regular study hall and participate in a programming curriculum to support their growth. Students participating in this community are assigned to Freedom Hall, with their choice of a single or double room.
