Variously called "on-line," "hybrid," or "distance education" courses, each offers the same content and standards as its on-campus equivalent. Regardless of the format, distance-education courses have one thing in common: they require that students work independently and keep pace with course assignments. While offering students the flexibility of working from home or office, the computer lab or library, these courses also lack the structure that comes with having to attend class several times a week. Good time management skills are a must.
