RBC Food Drive
Oct 20 – Nov 17 all-day

The Richard Bland College Student Assembly will be hosting a food drive here on campus on behalf of the Colonial Heights Food Pantry. We will be accepting donations now until Monday November 17, 2014. We had such a successful drive last year collecting non-perishable items and almost $300.00 cash from students who donated. We are looking to increase our numbers this year. We will have boxes set up around campus in the following buildings:

Center for Student Affairs (Downstairs in the lobby)
Statesman Hall (Gym) Lobby
Maze Hall (under the events board on the registrar side)
Freedom Hall (Lobby)
Patriot Hall (Lobby)
McNeer (Lobby near stairwell)

The RBC Film Club presents: The 11th annual Halloween fright film/anime festival and cosplay @ HSS 122
Oct 30 @ 12:30 pm – 1:50 pm

Share your favorite scene(s) from your favorite scary movie(s) for a
chance to win prizes. Just bring in a DVD or URL address of the film
scene. Plus there’ll be Pizza, Popcorn & TREATS!

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
1. Best Trailer/ Preview (scariest/ funniest)
2. “Best” Villain(scariest/ funniest)
3. Most Gruesome Scene
4. Most Suspenseful Scene(scariest/ funniest)
5. Best Overall Scene (Scariest and/ or Most Entertaining)
6. Best Original Scene (on video or performed live, a la “Cosplay”)
7. Best Costume (detail, originality, effort, & “scariness” will all be

Awards will be determined by a vote of everyone present. Some of the
categories may be omitted or combined. No one person may win for more
than two categories including “Best Overall Scene.” Be prepared and know
exactly where the scene is on your DVD or know the exact URL of the video
on the web.Scenes must be no longer than 2 minutes.

Vegetarian Potluck @ Patriot Hall room 122
Oct 30 @ 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm

PEAC is sponsoring a vegetarian potluck and all are invited to join, particularly if you completed the vegetarian challenge. The club requests you bring a dish if you can, but if not, and you are curious if vegetarian food can be tasty, please come by! (The answer is, yes it can!)

Halloween Costume Party & Food Pantry Drive
Oct 30 @ 9:00 pm – Oct 31 @ 1:00 am

RBC Student Assembly hosts the Halloween Costume Party & Food Pantry Drive (partnering with the Colonial Heights Food Pantry)

Current RBC Students only with proper ID cards. No ID cards = No entrance to the event

Barn – 9pm to 1am

Live DJ (DJ A-Wall)

Costume Contest: Best dressed Male and Female winners will receive prizes

Students bringing large amounts of non-perishable items to donate will receive a token of appreciation for going the extra mile in the collection of goods.

Students who do not dress up will be required to pay $1 as an entrance fee
Students who do not bring a non-perishable item to donate are required to pay $1
Students who do not do any of the above will be required to pay $2

William & Mary Rep On Campus
Nov 3 all-day

Whitney Link will be on campus on November 3 to have individual interviews with students interested in transferring to William & Mary for Fall 2015.  The students must be 2nd year students and must bring an Official sealed transcript from Richard Bland which shows a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better with them to their meeting.  Students may sign up for an appointment at the front desk of the Student Success Center.
