Remembering Jim Saady @ your library®

James "Jim" Saady (1964-2009) served as Assistant Facilties Manager at Richard Bland College and played a key role in significant campus projects such as creation of the new water tower, renovation of the Library, and development of the residence halls.

Jim Saady

SAADY, James Michael, 45, of Chesterfield, lost his battle with lung cancer Thursday May 14, 2009. Jim was the son of the late James A. Saady Jr. and Judie M. Saady. In addition to his mother, he is survived by brothers, Christopher P. Saady and Stephen P. Saady of Richmond; and sister, Jennifer K. Saady of Anchorage, Alaska.

Jim was the Assistant Facilities Manager for Richard Bland College, a job which he enjoyed immensely. He was instrumental in the construction of the new residence halls at the college, along with other projects.

Jim enjoyed fishing with his brothers, appreciated his family and good friends, and following the Ohio State Buckeyes.

A celebration of Jim's life was conducted in the Community Room of the Library at Richard Bland College on Monday, May 18, 2009. At Jim's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Hospital, 2924 Brook Road, Richmond, Virginia 23227.

OSU Buckeyes

A Message from E. Gordon Gee, president of The Ohio State University:

I understand that the Ohio State Buckeyes have lost a good friend in Jim Saady.  He was a fervent Buckeye fan who surely generated more fans with his enthusiasm for all things scarlet and gray.  Indeed, Jim Saady was truly a Buckeye beacon.  I am grateful for his devotion, and in his honor I send these parting words:  Go Buckeyes!

Saady tribute

Until Then
We've shared our lives these many years
You've held my hand; you've held my heart,
So many blessings, so few tears
Yet for a moment, we must part.
The memories you've given me
Are times I've shared with my best friend
I'll hold them, Love, Right here they'll be,
Until we share our lives again.
