Artist Exhibit: "Raves for Rebecca"
On Thursday, April 10th, Rebecca Kennedy, a student at Richard Bland College, exhibited some of her works in the library.
Artist's Comments I've always had the desire to paint. Wanting to learn to paint, through the years I have taken some one-day painting classes. About three years ago a desire within me became more evident. I wanted to do more painting, not just attend a one-day class and paint the same thing everyone else was painting. I wanted to be more original. Heide Gibson, a former student of Michelle Delano, recommended that I enroll at RBC. My original plan was just to take a few art classes. However, with inspiration and support from Michelle and my family, I am currently seeking my associate degree. Even though many of my art works are class assignments, I find inspiration form many sources. It might be a magazine or a book from the library. |
