Brandy Lynn Stivers (1983-2009)
Brandy (and her companion dog Sadie) attended Richard Bland College from Fall 2002 to Spring 2004. Brandy graduated with honors in May 2004.
At age 26, Brandy passed away Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at her home in Colonial Heights.
Brandy is survived by her mother, Marie Soccio Stivers; father, Jerry Stivers; sister, Nancy Stivers; brother, Davis Stivers; maternal grandmother, Regina Soccio; paternal grandfather, John Stivers; aunt, Nancy Reedy and husband, Gene Reedy; uncle, Patrick Soccio and wife, Barbara Soccio; cousins, Mitchell Reedy, Shane Reedy and Elizabeth Soccio.
In 2004, Brandy and Sadie made their television debut when they were interviewed by WRIC Channel 8 during Jerry Lewis' Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon.
An avid Elvis Presley fan with a big heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a love of learning, Brandy was an inspiration to all who knew her! Brandy loved traveling to Memphis explaining: "In Memphis, Elvis is like the wind: you can't see him, but you can feel him...all around. :-)"
