Mr. Roland M. Parsons
As a campus security officer, Roland M. Parsons has been keeping the staff and students of Richard Bland College safe since 1994. Prior to coming to the College, Parsons served in the United States Navy for twenty-two years as an Aviation Electronics Technician. During his service, he was able to travel the world.
Now Parsons spends his time traveling to duathlons. Having once ran the Boston Marathon, Parsons currently bikes and runs in competitions throughout the East Coast.
Parsons has been very generous when it comes to the Library. He has donated a Sharp Blu-Ray player, a Toshiba HD-DVD player and a Sony Bravia High-Definition television to the RBC Library. This technology is in the Multimedia Room and allows students to view films in high quality.
Parsons has also enhanced the library's film collection by donating many DVDs including Ratatouille and the first three seasons of the critically acclaimed television series The Office. He has also donated funds to the library’s Graduate Books program so that books could be purchased in honor of graduating students like Rebecca Russell, Kaysee Kohler, Kevin Specter, Kristin White and Brian Jones.
