Clinton Ford Artwork on Display

Clinton Ford

Mr. Clinton Ford was a native of Richmond, VA, who enlisted in the VA National Guard when he was 18. In 1941, he was called into active duty. His folk art tells the story of his experiences in World War II at Normandy, Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge.

For years, Mr. Ford was unable to talk about this part of his life, but through his association with art teacher Michelle Delano, who encouraged him to use his art to tell his story, he produced over 100 canvases.

In honor of Veteran's Day, the library, in conjunction with art professor Michelle Delano, has put on display two pieces of his artwork. Stop by the library to see them!

Mr. Ford passed away in January 2006. For information on a past exhibit and more examples of his artwork, visit this website.
