Members of the Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held their monthly meeting in the Richard Bland College Library Community Room. Delta Kappa Gamma is an international honorary organization for women educators. This month’s speaker was Delegate Kirk Cox.
He received a certificate of appreciation for his dedication to public education in the Commonwealth as well as a Delta Kappa Gamma Society International letter presented by Joan Walker, incoming president of Zeta Chapter.
Zeta Chapter members plan several fund-raising activities throughout the year to sponsor a $500 yearly scholarship to be awarded to a RBC student. Richard Bland College professors Katherine Snavely and Mary Monroe are members as well as Dr. Virginia Cherry, Library Director. Professor Monroe is currently the president of Zeta Chapter. Dr. Cherry is currently serving as IOTA State Professional Development Chairman and recently organized three leadership seminars in Tidewater, Northern Virginia and Wytheville areas.
