In 2010, when a catastrophic earthquake hit the country of Haiti, the students at Richard Bland College organized a "Loose Change Drive for Haiti" fundraiser to collect funds on behalf of the American Red Cross.
RBC Library staff assisted the cause by collecting change at the Circulation Desk.

The Richard Bland College fundraiser raised a total of $386.93 for the Southside Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
