National Library Worker's Day — Tuesday, April 12
On January 25, 2003, a resolution was proposed:
That in order to recognize the hard work, dedication, and expertise of library support staff and librarians that the Tuesday of National Library Week be designated National Library Workers Day; and, that on that day, interested library workers, library groups, and libraries should advocate for better compensation for all library workers and, if the day coincides with National Pay Equity Day, these individuals, groups, and libraries should recognize both days together.

ALA Initiative — Many Voices, One Nation @ your library®
Many Voices, One Nation @ your library® is an initiative of American Library Association President Carol Brey-Casiano that celebrates the diverse voices in the literature of our nation and the unifying role that libraries play in building a literate nation. All libraries are welcome to participate in this multi-faceted campaign which will culminate in the creation of a "nation's booklist" and a nationwide celebration of reading entitled Many Voices, One Nation, One Night @ your library® to be held during National Library Week.
