Public Services and Interlibrary Loan Librarian Joy Galloni receives books, one classic and one contemporary, for two different patrons through Interlibary Loan.
What do a book published in 1891 and a paperback published in 2001 have in common? Both are recent materials requested and received through the Richard Bland College Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Department!
ILL is a collaborative and reciprocal library service whereby library materials, such as books, DVDs, and articles, are exchanged among libraries on behalf of library patrons. With the majority of the library collection in storage, this cooperative library service has been extremely important during the RBC library renovation.
While in the Library Annex, Joy Galloni has been busy requesting books and articles on behalf of library patrons! In 2006-2007 RBC borrowed 309 materials. The lending numbers were much lower at only 84. Joy looks forward to loaning more materials to other libraries once the renovation is complete and items in storage are once again available!
Students and faculty interested in using this helpful service can complete an online ILL request form.
