RBC Student Research Awards: Sponsored by the Friends of the Library Congratulations to our Winners!
Papers will be judged primarily by the quality of Library and Internet sources cited (including journal articles, books, or web resources), as well as the overall quality of writing and presentation. Papers may be about any topic and may be of any length, so long as reliable information sources are cited. Longer papers will NOT be assumed better papers. Top prize will be a $200 award to the student writing the paper with a $50 honorarium to the RBC professor who assigned and graded the paper. Second prize will be a $100 award to the student and a $50 honorarium to the assigning/grading professor. Papers will be judged by Richard Bland College's three librarians: Jacqueline Carrell, Irene Handy, and Dan Ream, and must meet the following criteria:
Papers must be turned in at the RBC Library service desk no later than 5:00PM on Friday, April 26 and should include a cover sheet with the student’s and professor’s name. These will be removed before judging begins. Awards will be announced on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Questions may be addressed to Dan Ream, RBC Library Director, at dream@rbc.edu.
