Dr. Virginia Cherry retired as Library Director of the Richard Bland College Library on June 30, 2012 after 19 years here.

Her accomplishments are many and were delineated in the memory book presented to her on June 22, 2012. She was also recognized by the William and Mary Board of Visitors with an official acknowledgment of her retirement.

On June 27, 2012, Dr. Cherry hosted her last Richmond Academic Library Consortium (RALC) retreat at the Country Club of Petersburg. She was recognized at that meeting with a plaque that honored her many years of service to RALC.

The library staff wish her all the best in her retirement! She will be dearly missed.
