New Features

  • My Account: Login to the catalog using your R-number (or library card number) and 6-digit birthday (MMDDYY). You can see when your items are due and renew them online.

  • Faceted Searching: After searching the catalog, you can further refine your search by selecting material type (book, DVD, e-book, etc.), era (time period of subject), publication date, region, etc. You can also filter your search by selecting different topics.

  • Mobile Support: Access the catalog from your mobile device, and the interface is reconfigured for easy searching.

  • Google Preview & Hathi Trust links: In your search results, you will sometimes see two different buttons...

    Google Preview Hathi Trust
The Google Preview button opens a limited online preview of the book in Google Books. The HathiTrust Digital Library hosts digitized versions of books from more than 60 academic libraries. This button shows up if the book is available in full-text on their website.

  • Add to List Add to List: Each user can create and add items to their own lists. For example, if you're writing a paper on the Civil War, you can create a list entitled "Civil War Paper" and add all the books you want to use to that list. This way you don't have to write down the books you need to get from the library. You can also save them for future reference when it comes time to cite your sources!

  • Add to Bookbag Add to Bookbag: To use the "Add to Bookbag" feature, simply click the checkbox next to all the books you need, click "Add to Bookbag," and these items show up in your Bookbag in the top-right corner. Clicking the "# items" link allows you to print off or email the titles to yourself.

  • Cite This: When you click the title of any item, a "Cite This" link appears at the top of the record page. This will bring up the MLA and APA citation for that particular book. Of course, you must always double-check it make sure the citation is accurate! Use the MLA Citation Guide and the APA Citation Guide.

  • Text or Email This: You can also text or email the title of an item and a link to the catalog record.

  • QR Code QR Code: The QR Code is a special barcode that takes you directly to the catalog record's page. Just download a QR code app to your smartphone, and begin using it!
