NEW ADMINSTRATORS APPOINTED AT RICHARD BLAND COLLEGE
Petersburg, VA – Richard Bland College announced today the appointment of three new administrators in the positions of Vice President of Financial Services and Administration, Vice President of Enrollment Services and Chief Information Officer.
Vice President of Financial Services and Administration – Annette Smith Parker is a graduate of Dickinson College with a degree in Fine Arts and Art History. She received an M.B.A. in accounting from Shippensburg University. Ms. Parker returned to her alma mater as Assistant Treasurer and subsequently served Dickinson College as Associate Vice President and Comptroller before assuming the role and responsibilities of Vice President and Treasurer, a position that she held for 14 years during a period of institutional transformation and repositioning. Ms. Parker previously served on the business and economics faculty at Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Just prior to joining Richard Bland College, Ms. Parker was Founder and Principal of Causeway Consulting LLC, which provided strategic planning, branding and investment portfolio/governance assessment and repositioning services to higher education, independent schools and non-profit organizations. Ms. Parker is no stranger to horse trailers and race tracks; she spent nearly 25 years raising Standardbred horses and Jack Russell Terriers. Her son is also the owner of an organic farm.
Vice President of Enrollment Services – Dr. Jenifer Blair holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Mary Washington and M.Ed. and Ed.D. degrees from the University of Virginia. Dr. Blair spent the early part of her career in admission at the University of Mary Washington before expanding her scope of responsibilities as Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of Notre Dame in Maryland and Associate Vice Provost of Enrollment Management at the University of Baltimore. Dr. Blair is coming to Richard Bland from an all-boys college preparatory school—Boys’ Latin School of Maryland—where she served as Director of College Counseling since 2008. 25 years ago, prior to relocating to Baltimore, Dr. Blair took great pride in restoring a Pre-Civil War home in the Churchill area of Richmond. She is also a former synchronized swimmer.
Chief Information Officer – Chandragupta Gudena holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam, India; an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso; and is currently working toward a doctorate in business administration from Capella University. Mr. Gudena is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He was most recently the Chief Information Officer at Sul Ross State University in Texas and began his career as a Computer Laboratory Systems Information Manager at the University of Texas at El Paso before becoming Assistant Vice President at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Mr. Gudena is speaks five languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Telugu and Oryia.
