Dear Members of the College Community and Visitors,
On behalf of the Richard Bland College Police Department, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit us on the web and to learn a little more about our department and the commitment we have to making our college community as safe and secure as possible! We hope the information provided will answer many of your questions and as other questions arise, please contact us.
Richard Bland College Police Department has full law enforcement authority on all property the College owns, operates, or leases and all roads that pass through the campus. The College Police Department is comprised of nine full-time and part-time officers and one part-time communications officer. All police officers are sworn and certified by meeting the requirements set by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. We work very closely with both jurisdictional agencies, Prince George County Police Department and Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office, in which the College is located.
Officers are expected to patrol the campus by being visible and approachable by the college community. Policing is a community effort and we ask for your active participation by providing information, being cognizant of your surroundings, and practicing safety. We look forward to providing you with the level of service you deserve!
Sincerely,
Colonel C. Scott Davis
Chief of Police
