Presidential Merit Scholarship
• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • •The Richard Bland College Presidential Merit Scholarship is awarded to entering first-time freshmen who have maintained a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or better throughout their high school career. The scholarship is in the amount of $1,000 and is designated for students who have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their secondary education and show the potential to do the same while attending Richard Bland.
In order to be considered for this scholarship, the student must complete the Richard Bland College Presidential Merit Scholarship Application and indicate the final cumulative GPA. This GPA will be validated in the Admissions Office upon receipt of the final high school transcript. The application deadline is July 1st. Please note that we must have the application and your final GPA by this date. This scholarship is renewable for a second year if a minimum 3.5 GPA is maintained during your freshman year at the College. Also, you must have completed 24 college credits (excluding developmental courses) during the Fall and Spring semesters of your freshmen year.
