The Richard Bland College Players will close the 2011-2012 theatre season with the romantic comedy - Ring Round the Moon - written by Jean Anouilh and adapted by Christopher Fry. The play will open on Thursday, March 8th. Evening performances on March 8th, 9th, and 10th will begin at 8:00 p. m., and the production will close on Sunday, March 11th, with a 2:30 p. m. matinee. The production is being directed by Professor Jill Leffler Mitten and is being stage managed by Shonda Hemphill.

Ring Round the Moon is a fable about twin brothers - Frederic, who is shy and sensitive, and Hugo, who is heartless and aggressive. Frederic is in love with a vixen who, in turn, is in love with Hugo. To save Frederic from an unhappy marriage, Hugo tries to distract his brother by bringing to the ball a beautiful dancer who masquerades as a mysterious personage and becomes the triumph of the occasion. A susceptible maiden in her own right, she not only breaks up all the cynical romances that have been going on before she arrived, but loses her own heart as well.

For ticket information, please contact Jill Leffler Mitten, Director of Theatre of the College, by calling 862-6264 or by emailing jmitten@rbc.edu. Ticket prices are $6.00 for adults, $5.00 for RBC personnel, and $3.00 for non-RBC students. Admission is free to all RBC students with proper identification.
