Q. What is Cisco Clean Access?

Cisco Clean Access performs required network authorization and validation to facilitate wireless access. All users must authenticate to the RBC network prior to accessing wireless resources. Clean Access guarantees the laptop is compliant with RBC acceptable use standards. Once the laptop is validated as compliant, Clean Access allows the user access to the wireless network.

Q. What is the agent?

The agent is the client portion of the application that scans the equipment to verify compliance with network security settings. The agent DOES NOT gather information about the user or the content of user files.

Q. Is agent installation required?

Agent installation facilitates faster future network access and is the simplest and preferred long-term solution. However, the agent is not required. Cisco Clean Access also provides an active X solution. However, this solution required repeating at every connection. Once the agent is installed, additional steps are not necessary and future logins are much faster.
