New Student Move-In – Thursday, August 20, 2026
Move-in times are based on floor assignment:
- 1st & 4th Floors: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 2nd & 3rd Floors: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
To view your housing assignment, meal plan, and roommate information, please log in to the MyHousing Portal at housing.rbc.edu/login!
Housing assignments will also be sent to your RBC student email account, so please monitor your email closely as we get closer to the assignment release date.

Returning Student Move-In – August 21–22, 2026
Residence halls will be open for move-in:
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
If you plan to arrive later than your anticipated move-in date, please contact Residence Life in advance so our staff can prepare accordingly.
Residential Orientation – Sunday, August 23, 2026
Residential Orientation is required for all residential students.
- Location: Statesmen Hall
- Time: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Please note: Students who do not attend and sign in will receive a $150 charge to their student account.

Greetings Statesmen!
We are excited that you have chosen to live on-campus at Richard Bland College. Living on-campus provides you many advantages, among them, easy accessibility to class and campus activities. We are committed to making your home away from home enjoyable, safe, and developmental.
Residence Life prides itself on creating an atmosphere that will foster community building, personal development, and that encourages eventual transfer to a 4-year institution. Living in our state-of-the-art residential facilities will be an exciting opportunity for growth. We encourage you to use your living experience to foster a sense of community and collaboration with your hall mates by becoming involved participants.
For some of you this will be your first opportunity to experience a community living environment. We would like to take time to remind all students that living on-campus comes with a great deal of joy and responsibility. Each person who lives and grows with us takes responsibility for their community and their individual success.

New Students must pay a housing damage deposit of $156.00, with $100 eligible for a refund and a $56 non-refundable housing application processing fee.
Returning Students are not required to pay the housing deposit. Students are only required to pay the $156 housing deposit one time!

If I change my mind about living on campus, do I get my deposit back?
The housing damage deposit of $156.00, with $100 eligible for a refund and a $56 non-refundable housing application processing fee.
What are the housing requirements?
- ALL students must have completed housing application.
- ALL students are required to remain in full time status and remain in good academic standing (meaning you must be enrolled in at least 12 credits throughout the academic semester and 50% of classes must be in seat).
- ALL students must be admitted to Richard Bland College.

Payment of fees and submission of a housing application DOES NOT guarantee housing. Space is limited and assigned on a first come first serve.
When will housing assignments go out?
July 14, 2025
How do I select my meal plan/dining plan?
Residential students are NOT given the option to select the Commuter Block 40 Meal Plan. If selected at the start of the semester, the Office of Residence Life and Housing will automatically assign the student to the Block 100 Meal Plan.
When will I find out where I will be living or who I will be living with?
Housing assignments will be sent out on July 14, 2025. Please keep in mind that housing assignments may be subject to change up to move-in day.
Remove repeated question – If I requested a single will I get a single?
I requested a specific person to be in my room, will I get them as a roommate?
When applying for housing you have the option to list a request roommate, please keep in mind that the requested roommate must also request you as a roommate to match. Please also keep in mind that all requests are not guaranteed but the Office of Residence Life and Housing will work diligently to accommodate your requests.
