Biography:
Deborah Young is a Petersburg native and a retired engineer with nearly 35 years of experience at Honeywell International (formerly AlliedSignal). She held multiple senior
leadership roles, including Director of Global Health, Safety, and Environmental Capital, where she oversaw engineering strategy, regulatory compliance, and capital projects supporting global manufacturing operations. She retired from Honeywell in 2015.
Ms. Young has served two terms on the NC State Engineering Foundation Board of Directors and was the first Black woman to serve as president of the organization.
Ms. Young earned a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, a Master of Science in Civil Engineering–Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
