Statesman Account Management (SAM)
RBC Systems Setup Guide
RBC employees will receive a secure email containing their username, password, and email address once their account setup is complete.
- 
                                Statesman Account Management (SAM) Initial Setup- 
                                        Prerequisites - Your RBC ID number
- Your RBC Email Address
- Initial password format: (R number plus (!) and first two letters of last name)
 Example: If your last name is Smith, your initial password would be R00012345!sm
 Please note: If you were admitted in 2024, Password is your RBC ID number plus exclamation point (!) and first letter of your last name (lowercase) 
 Example: Richard Bland’s password would be R00000000!bInitial Login Process - Go to Office.com and click “Sign in”
- Enter your Username and initial Password (R number plus (!) and first two letters of last name)
 Example: If your last name is Smith, your initial password would be R00012345!sm
- Follow the prompts to continue setting up your account
 Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup - After first login, you’ll be prompted to set up MFA
- Click “Next” until you see the QR code
- On your mobile phone:
- Download Microsoft Authenticator App
- Click “Add” in top corner
- Select “Work or school account”
- Choose “Scan QR code”
 
- Scan the QR code shown on your computer
- Enter the generated code when prompted
 Password Requirements Your new password must have: - Minimum of 12 characters
- 1 uppercase letter
- 1 lowercase letter
- 1 number
- 1 special symbol
- Cannot contain your name

                                Accessing RBC Systems- 
                                        Statesman Mail (Campus Email) Method 1: Through RBC Website - Go to rbc.edu
- Click on “Info For”
- Click “Statesman Mail” under “Current Statesman”
- Sign in with your credentials
 Method 2: Through Outlook.com - Go to Outlook.com
- Sign in with your RBC email and password
 BANNER (Grades, Bills, Financial Aid) - Go to my.rbc.edu
- Login using your RBC office account
 CANVAS (Learning Platform) - 
- Go to rbc.edu and click “Info For”
- Click “Canvas” under “Current Statesman”
- Sign in with SAM credentials
- Click “Courses” to access “Canvas Orientation”
- Complete the orientation course

                                Password Reset- 
                                        Method 1: - Click on ‘Reset Password’
- You will be redirected to Microsoft password reset page
- Enter your RBC email address (example@rbc.edu)
- Enter the characters in the picture
- Click Next
- Click on ‘I forgot my password’
- Enter the code displayed in your authenticator app or send a notification to your authenticator app on your mobile device.
- Create and confirm your new password following the requirements above
- Click “Finish”
 Method 2: - Go to https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/
- Enter your RBC email address (example@rbc.edu)
- Enter the characters in the picture
- Follow method 1

 Important Note: Your SAM password works for all systems (Canvas, Statesman Mail, etc.) after initial setup.
