Contact: Jesse Vaughan, Chief Communications & Marketing Officer/jvaughan@rbc.edu

Chief Academic Officer Dr. Tiffany R. Birdsong was one of 26 fellows selected for the 2024-25 cohort of the prestigious ACE (American Council on Education) Fellows Program. According to the ACE website, the program is the most effective, comprehensive leadership development program in U.S. higher education.

“I’m grateful to have been selected for such an amazing executive leadership development opportunity,” Birdsong said. “This experience will also allow me to initiate a project that advances the mission and strategic goals of RBC and I am eager to embark on that work.”

Fellows will participate in multi-day seminars, retreats, team projects, as well as develop a network of higher education leaders from around the country.

The RBC family is so proud of Dr. Birdsong’s momentous achievement.

“The American Council on Education Fellows Program is one of the nation’s most prestigious professional development programs for college and university administrators,” President Dr. Debbie Sydow said. “As such, the selection process is highly competitive.”

“Dr. Birdsong has distinguished herself as an exceptional leader at Richard Bland College and as a 2024-25 ACE Fellow, her talents will be recognized nationally. She’s an invaluable addition to this noteworthy cohort class. We know she’s going to make an indelible impact.”

Since 1965, the ACE Fellows Program has strengthened institutions in American higher education by identifying and preparing more than 2,500 faculty, staff, and administrators for senior leadership positions at colleges and universities nationwide. More than 80 percent of the fellows have gone on to serve as deans, chief executive and chief academic officers, as well other prestigious cabinet positions.

“The ACE Fellow Program, known for its history of success, cultivates skilled and promising leaders, driving the growth of a diverse and talented higher education leadership pipeline,” ACE President Ted Mitchell stated in a press release. “Through immersive learning experiences, ACE Fellows acquire fresh perspectives and develop distinctive skills to apply upon their return to their home campuses. I am excited to witness the accomplishments of this class.”
