Account Setup

Welcome to Richard Bland College of William & Mary!

Please follow the instructions below to log in to the four RBC Student Accounts (before your Placement Assessment date).  If you have questions or problems logging in to any of the accounts, please contact STAC Help Desk at (804) 862-6401 or email STAC@rbc.edu.

  • Log in and register for Statesman Account Management (SAM)
  • Log in to MyRbc
  • Log in to Statesman Email
  • Log in to Canvas
  • Complete the Canvas Orientation course
  • MyRBC

      1. Click here to go to My.rbc.edu or by typing My.rbc.edu on your web browser
      2. Enter your User ID which is your rbc email and password
      3. View your RBC email:  Click on Personal Information tab > View Email Address
      4. Click on “Students” to view more resources
  • STATESMAN ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT (SAM)

      Self-service password reset and account unlock tool

      1. Open your preferred web browser and go to https://hub.rbc.edu
      2. Enter your User Name and Password and click Log In
        • User Name is your RBC username or email address
        • Password is your Student ID number plus ! plus lowercase first letter of last name
          • Ex: Richard Bland’s password would be R000000!b
      3. Follow the prompts to register for SAM. Use the arrows to navigate through the registration:
        • Enter your Student ID number (starts with R)
        • Answer at least 5 of the 10 security questions
        • Once you have answered at least five questions or more, click Continue.
        • Enter an alternate email address (other than your RBC email address).
        • The system will send a one-time use passcode (OTP) to your alternate email address.
        • Log into your alternate email to get the OTP from the email.
        • Enter the code in the box and your alternate email is now registered.
        • You are now registered with SAM. Click on the link “Click here to try to continue logging in”.
      4. The registration is complete and the SAM homepage appears. Change your password to something else at this time by clicking Change Now.
        • NOTE: Any time you change your password in SAM, it will change your password for both Canvas and Statesman Mail.
  • STATESMAN MAIL

      Email for campus communications

      1. Open your preferred web browser and go to rbc.edu. Click on Info For
      2. Click on the Statesman Mail link under Current Statesman
      3. Enter your User Name and Password and click Sign In
        • NOTE: Your User Name and Password are the same credentials you use to log in to SAM. When you changed your password after registering in SAM that became your new password.
  • CANVAS

    • Click here for a video on how to access Canvas.

      Platform for learning, coursework, etc.

      1. Open your preferred web browser and go to rbc.edu. Click on Info For
      2. Click on the Canvas link under Current Statesmanyou will be redirected to the SAM Login page.
      3. Enter your User Name and Password and click Sign In
        • NOTE: Your User Name and Password are the same credentials you use to log in to SAM. When you changed your password after registering in SAM that became your new password.
      4. Click on Courses. You will see a course listed called Canvas Orientation.
      5. Click on Canvas Orientation. Follow the prompts to complete the Canvas Orientation course and familiarize yourself with Canvas.
      6. If you have a problem after logging in, use the Help menu (bottom left corner).
